It’s an idea
about creating a pop-up book with popular sites in Sai Gon. The project was performed by Nextstep group and awarded consolation
prize in HOCHIMINH’s souvenir competition for domestic and overseas tourists.
The pop-up book is the first interested printed product of the world cause of its regular and unique look. Beside of that, in Viet Nam, we’ve ever had a Vietnamese pop-up book. If you do the hard search from the famous bookstore or in the internet, we’re sure that it’s reallyreally hard to find one.
Meanwhile, in
the eastern countries, like China and Japan, the pop-up book is the most
fantastic tool that help in education and culture.
The Saigon
street project carrying the vision to become the first pop-up book appeared in
Vietnamese communities, opened the new age for creative agencies.
If this
project success and attracted the community concern, Comicola and Next-Step
group will co-operate together to get the new ideas about pop-up book intended
for Vietnamese community. It’s about our beautiful culture and popular spot all
around our country, the relics of the past or folk poetries. Vietnamese culture
is abundant land for us who young and full of energy to create a new life of
style.
Printing a
regular book is not matter but to make a pop-up book caught us some problem:

The book cover had to made by thick
paper ingredient, standing an open/close movement at many time without broke.

It’s not just printed, it composed
many process like printing, packing…

Its shape must be precisely and each page
was made manually.
Because of
that the pop-up book worldwide is not in comfortable price compared to normal
book.
There’re not
many printing agencies in Vietnam can process this project, we have searched
for an agency that concern this project for a year, and finally we’ve found
Comicola which is a top comic producer.
